The forthcoming World of Warcraft expansion is now unveiled (has it been that long since WotLK already? QQ) and the changes presented will bring us back to the places that made us all fall in love with WoW in the first place- Azeroth. Along with the redesign of the old world are loads of other very awesome changes including new race and class combination which if I am not mistaken includes a gnome priest in the trailer embedded below. Now that is mega-awesome! Well mini-awesome because it's a gnome but whatever.

World of Warcraft Movie Update

After years of unconfirmed reports of a World of Warcraft movie, Blizzard Entertainment finally inked a deal with Legendary Pictures to produce the much anticipated live-action film based on the Warcraft Universe to de directed by Spiderman and Drag Me to Hell auteur, Sam Raimi.

Blizzard.com reports:

LOS ANGELES, Calif. July 22, 2009 -- Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. and Legendary Pictures announced today that Sam Raimi has signed on to direct the eagerly-anticipated major motion picture based on Blizzard Entertainment®’s award-winning Warcraft® universe. Raimi has, in the course of his career, clearly demonstrated a genius for developing and adapting existing fictional universes for mainstream audiences while staying true to the spirit of the original content.
Raimi directed the Spider-Man trilogy, which has broken box-office records around the world and garnered five Academy Award® nominations. Known for his imaginative filmmaking style, richly drawn characters and offbeat humor, Raimi wrote and directed the cult classic, The Evil Dead and produced 30 Days Of Night. He most recently wrote and directed the supernatural thriller, Drag Me To Hell.

"At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story," said Raimi. "I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen."

Traver Skill Changes

Druid Travel Form , Hunter Aspect of the Cheetah, and Shaman Ghost Wolf can now be uniformly trained at Level 20. Class-specific mounts will come at the same levels as generic mounts will: Paladin and Warlock ground mounts at 20 for normal and 40 for epic, Druid Flight Form (now enhanced to 150% speed, like the other normal-speed flying mounts) at level 60, and Swift Flight Form at level 70.

Warning to All Guildies: If you are grouped with a toon named Absturz and Cirenidy from the guild I Has no Dust, leave ASAP. Alt f4 if you have to but be sure to warn everyone in that group/raid first that these asses will ninja all the loot and gloat about it every way they can.

About two days ago, we joined an OS 25-man pug run organized by Absturz. We had no idea then that he was a ninja looter and since it was an easy enough run, PUG-ing it seemed all too normal. Then right before we started, one player commented that Absturz may ninja all the loot if he were loot master. I personally thought that the comment was childish and premature but hey this is WoW so we have mastered the art of ignoring whiners. Absturz on the other hand addressed the said comment and passed on the loot master to Cirenidy. There, he said, I am no longer loot master. And so we went on and finished the somewhat chaotic run.

An hour or so later, when the main boss was downed, everyone was eagerly waiting to roll on a piece of epic to reward themselves for putting up the time and effort and simply endure the bickering on raid chat for bad pulls and people simply not knowing what to do during the boss fight. Much to our surprise, we saw all the loot getting passed on to Absturz. Yep, all of it. No call was made for anyone to roll, no "Oops, I forgot to set it on master loot," nada. All the loot were deliberately handed to Absturz by Cirenidy who happens to be his guildie. After that, they LoL'd and left the raid. Five minutes later, we see Absturz gloating on trade about what he did.

I have brought this matter up to the GM's but sadly I am never on long enough to elicit a reply and all I'm getting are generic mailed messages for missing the Game Masters. And while this may not be a bannable offense, this looks like a habitual "prank" that needs to be addressed. Ignoring these players completely isn't even an option at this point as it is always better to watch out for these names and just tell people off if you see them PUG-ing anything else on LFG/Trade.

Soon these people may just change their character names and this issue will be over. I have a nagging suspicion though that they like the attention and I may be giving them exactly what they want by posting this but I don't care as other players need to be warned so they can be avoided whenever possible.

Noble Garden Achievement Guide

Hello Jollibee Guildie's, here's a repost of the Noble Garden Achievemt guide posted @ Wowinsider.

First things first; these are the basics of the new and improved Noblegarden:

* As with Hallow's End, much of the content is centered in and around level-5 towns (e.g. Azure Watch, Dolanaar, Goldshire, and Kharanos for Alliance, and Bloodhoof Village, Brill, Falconwing Square, and Razor Hill for the Horde). Brightly Colored Eggs will spawn in and around these towns for the duration of the celebration (April 26th through May 2nd).

* The number of eggs spawned has been massively increased. Judging from what Kisirani wrote on the forums, any player's looting of one egg automatically spawns another elsewhere. You should have very little difficulty getting enough eggs.

* Most egg spawns will drop Noblegarden chocolate, which can be used to purchase items like a new noncombat pet, Noblegarden clothing, and other items you'll need for some of the achievements. Letters from Birdfall has a great screenshot and post covering this.

* Buying all of the items you'll need will run you a total of 365 chocolates. This may sound like a lot, but many of the achievement-linked items can also be discovered randomly in eggs. If you get lucky, you probably won't need 365.

* Completing the meta-achievement Noble Gardener will reward the title "(Name) the Noble."

I Found One!

The easiest by far, all this achievement will require you to do is find one Brightly Colored Egg. Since you'll probably need hundreds for the meta-achievement, this'll be the first of many.

Desert Rose

For all those of us who love having Sting trapped in our heads, but this isn't too tough. You'll need Spring Robes (which allow you to plant a flower on a 1-minute cooldown) from a Noblegarden vendor, and that'll run you 50 Noblegarden chocolates or a lucky drop. 4 out of the 5 locations here are in Kalimdor, which will cut down on your travel time somewhat, but you'll still need to make the hike to the Badlands at some point.

Hard Boiled

The easiest way to do this (short of getting lucky with an egg granting the Noblegarden bunny buff) is to head down to Un'goro with a friends who've bought the Blossoming Branch (which is a very easy purchase for 10 Noblegarden chocolates). The Hot Springs are the lake area to the west of the central mountain in Un'goro. Head down, have your friend cast the buff, and wait until you lay an egg (it's a periodic trigger). Be sure to bring your own Branch so you can return the favor.

If you do get the bunny buff from a random egg, one of the Wowhead commenters notes that, like most costumes, you'll lose it by shapeshifting, mounting, or (I assume) taking a flight path. So while it's theoretically possible to do this achievement without outside help, it'll take you an awful lot longer given that the closest level-5 town to Un'goro is Bloodhoof Village and that's a mighty long walk.

Noble Garden (Alliance) or Noble Garden (Horde)

This achievement requires the purchase of a Noblegarden egg from a vendor (5 chocolates). If you're Horde, head to Silvermoon; if you're Alliance, head to Stormwind. Right-click your egg to spawn a Brightly Colored Egg, and you're all set. Interestingly, on the PTR you could loot the egg after you placed it, thus "refunding" yourself a chocolate.

Chocoholic

In addition to saving enough chocolates for the purchase of items you need for the other achievements, you'll need to eat 100 over the course of the week. This sounds like a lot, but it amounts to a little less than 15 chocoates a day if you ration it out instead of saving them up and eating them in one big marathon.

Spring Fling (Alliance) or Spring Fling (Horde)

This one will run you 100 Noblegarden chocolates in order to buy the new noncombat pet, the Spring Rabbit. What do you get for your hard-won confectionaries? The pet has a fairly unique behavior; like Stinker, it falls in love, but -- unlike absolutely everything else in this T-rated game, which is a pity -- it makes babies. Leave your Spring Rabbit in proximity to someone else's Spring Rabbit and...you'll get more rabbits. Parents may want to keep their own small offspring away from the monitor for the duration of this holiday unless they want the subject of "the talk" to be prompted by pixelated rabbit goings-on.

I think the highlight of my playing experience in the near future will be seeing a raid full of players with Spring Rabbits out. 10-mans should see 5 nice stable rabbit pairs, but question for 25-mans; is the odd rabbit out left alone, or does he become part of a, um, threesome? And why am I allowing my mind to roam places that frighten and disturb me?

Oh, the achievement. Right. Uh, bring your rabbit to each of the four level-5 towns for your faction and wait for something beautiful and natural to happen with someone else's rabbit. There you go. Does that make you kind of a rabbit pimp? I think it does. I also think I need to stop laughing before I am required to spend the next twenty years of my life in a confessional just because I find this funny.

Shake Your Bunny Maker

Wow, I'm glad I'm no longer required to write about uncomfortable subjects. Next on the agenda will be placing bunny ears on nubile 18+ players. I mean, level 18+, of course. In the game! The game! Get your mind out of the gutter. You'll need to buy Spring Flowers for 50 chocolates, which let you place bunny ears on other players. You can place bunny ears on your own toon (helpful if you play a female, which lets you knock one of the requirements out right off the bat), but otherwise you're going to have to start hunting down female toons of each race.

As the Wowhead thread notes, on some realms it's going to be pretty hard to find females of certain races (e.g. Trolls, Orcs, Tauren, and Dwarves). If you get desperate and don't yet have a Death Knight, the most expedient means of getting this achievement done might be rolling a female DK of the race your friends need, and having them summoned somewhere convenient (and then having a friend do the same for you).

Blushing Bride

Please note that the formalwear described in this achievement isn't the white-quality Tailoring stuff anybody can get; you'll need to get these pieces as drops from eggs, or buy them from a Noblegarden vendor. The pants and shirt cost 25 chocolates each, and the dress costs 50, so count on spending at least 50 chocolates for this.

Once you add up all of the items you'll need for the meta-achievement, with a worst-case scenario (i.e. very unlucky with drops from eggs, and you have to buy everything) you'll need to have 365 chocolates stashed away (add 50 more if you also buy an Elegant Dress to help friends who need Blushing Bride). Don't forget that you've got until May 2nd to get this done, however. Good luck, and happy hunting!

Jollibee full-cleared Naxx 10 in a new guild record of 6.5 hours! Woot!

One-shotted Spider and Plague wings. Wiped once to Gluth due to lack of mages, but one-shotted the rest of the bosses in the Construct wing. Wiped only two times to Instructor Razuvious, and we had a completely green mind controller at that. Gothik was a piece of cake, and we only wiped once to the Four Horsemen. Sapphiron was sisiw again, but Kel'Thuzad wiped us 3 times before we dropped him.

Congrats to Bratinello, Iannel, Chakaness, Koinonia, Alexiv, Darna, Hachiroku, Teardrop, Thecolossus, Threun, and Unano.

I forgot to formally introduce the cast of characters last time since the only progress we had last Saturday was big, stinkin' Grobby. With a meatier post explaining how we fared last Sunday, I plan to start things right.

Gluth
We tried out Gluth the night before just to get a taste of what was to come. It didn't end well. The fight centered upon a successful management of the adds and we just didn't have enough in our Saturday roster to do so.

This time, we had Rambaldi the frost mage and yours truly to kite the endless zombies that spawn from the grates. It took us three/four tries for the two of us to kite the zombies as successfully as we could to down the giant dog from hell. I hate those zombie adds. With passion.

Thaddius
Now this one was a lot easier. On our first try, we died a few seconds after the tank switcheroo due to threat mismanagement. On our second try, we managed to kill the sidekicks successfully and 8 of us were able to engage Thaddius to some extent. Why they were unsuccessful, I have no idea. Why there were only 8 of them, that's because me and Hachiroku were lounging around in the poisonous slimes below because we were unable to make the jump to the boss's platform. Lol.

Three proved to be a charm as Slow Fall was cast on the unfortunate mis-jumpers and Aspect of the Pack for the win. The Positive/Negative gimmick did not pose any problem. Until we downed the boss and some of us were all too eager to get the loot. Gee thanks for not warning us. Construct Quarter cleared!

Instructor Razuvious
This boss has got to be the most problematic one Jollibee ever encountered. We have tried him TONS of times starting way back and we just could not get the hang of the mind control gimmick. Concrete numbers are a bit fuzzy, but after n wipes, our then off-tank, Iannel, suddenly got disconnected and never returned. Rambster to the rescue!

After n+2 wipes and countless hilarious scenarios as I lay Feigning Death on the floor including a mind-controlled trainee running for the stairs like everyone else, we finally downed that monster of a boss. Woot! /dance saves the day!

Gothik, the Harvester
Way lot easier than the first boss. Paladin tank and three best DPS for the considerably harder undead side. We were overrun after the 7th or so wave due to our inefficient positioning on our first try. A reposition later, Gothik was lying face down on the floor. Ho hum.

The Four Horsemen
A tactical nightmare. We only had two healers so the logistics is a bit more challenging. We ended up with Rambster tanking and Alexiv healing him for the second horseman, and Chakaness and Hachiroku swapping every now and then for the 3rd and 4th targets. The rest goes all out DPS on the first.

First try, Hachiroku died due to pancakes on the floor and everyone got served with massive tons of damage. After the first try, a gnome mage donning a female blood elf costume decided to cast Mirror Image while everyone was patching up. Copies decided to attack the four horsemen. Two wipes on the first try. Lol.

We wiped on our second try. On our third, we took them down successfully with only two deaths due to debuff stacking. Military Quarter cleared!

Sapphiron
Huge blue ice dragon of chilly death. Nothing fancy happened although it was fun hiding behind ice blocks that are your frozen raid mates. Minimap pinging for the win! Killed him in three or four tries.

Kel'Thuzad
The big boss of Naxxramas. His first phase was a breeze and it was almost like playing Whack-A-Mole. Second phase was rough with only two healers. After our third wipe, Rambaldi was replaced with Ashkael for extra healing power. After two more tries, well...

Jollibee went Naxxing again, and Keldurin, the-tank-in-greens-who-has-never-stepped-foot-in-Naxx-yet, is the off-tank. We downed the Spider wing without much difficulty. Even Heigan's dance dance revo was done in only 3 tries; the last cycle with only the two tanks and a mage surviving, with the tanks succumbing to the damage debuff immediately after Heigan's dead. Congrats to Katannwen for being the sole survivor!

Construct wing's Grobbulus has proven to be Jollibee's bane time and time again. After, hmm, 6(?) attempts, one even with Chakaness wearing only a tabard and a shirt, we finally downed the plague-stinking boss with just one casualty: me.

And the ring that dropped made Threun, my hunter, cry inside.

The Mystery of Darna's Waning Mana Solved

Okay, forgive a noob paladin for not knowing this sooner, but it has always been a mystery to me why Darna's replenishment does not seem to work whenever we are grouped together in running heroics. I found the answer while surfing Wowinsider today.

According to this article, "all judgments are overwritten if the same judgment is used by another Paladin, regardless of which judgment was stronger." This means that since I am using Judgment of Wisdom as a Tank and I assume Darna is using the same, we are constantly cancelling each other's judgments. This also means that whenever I overwrite Darna's jow, Ret's replishment is cancelled and whenever he overwrites my judgment, Prot's Judgements of the Just which puts a debuff on the target, reducing its melee attack speed by 20% is also cancelled.

In connection with this, here are some helpful tips that I am reposting from the said article.

Judgement of Wisdom and Judgement of Light should ideally be up 100% of the time. Prot and Ret Pallies are more likely to keep them up 100% of the time compared to Holy Pallies (although a good Holy Pally can keep their judgement up almost 100% of the time).
Judgements of the Just should also be up 100% of the time, which means no one else should judge the same judgement as the Protection Paladin.
Prot Paladins should not judge Light since it will remove the mana they get back from Spiritual Attunement (unless they are the only paladin in the group).
Judgement of Justice has no affect by itself for most PvE content, especially bosses.
Holy Paladins get a permanent 15% haste buff from judging at least once a minute.

DPS Heirarchy according to GC

Okay, so Blizz has spoken about how the heirarchy of damage dealers should be like in PVE. According to Ghostcrawler, this should be:

1. Hunters, mages, rogues, and warlocks.
2. Everyone else.

Although this doesn't feel quite right because of the dominance of DK's in raids and heroics, it does give promise and incentive for the pure DPS classes that for as long as you play your class well, then there should be no reason to QQ against any plate-wearing, rez-giving, emergency healing hybrids in game. If they stay true to this, I guess my mage will be taking a peek from time to time and come out of retirement. XD *Big Grin*

Looting Policies

We have touched on the guild looting policies before but since I have three hours of free time and I am just hanging out in a cafe while loads of people are actually partying here in Eastwood City, I will lay out some ground rules on looting for whether you guys are in PUGs or even grouped with fellow guildies in raids, heroics or even normal dungeons.

Rule #1. Only Main Specs/Class roll need. This should be basic knowledge already for most of the level 80s but for the benefit of the new players and lowbies, this means that you can only roll need on an item if it is an upgrade to your main spec and class.

For example: If a cloth DPS item drops, cloth wearers have first dibs on that item. If nobody can use it, rolls will be opened up for the other dps classes that can use the item like moonkins and elemental shamans. If nobody wants it still, that is when healers can roll on it for off-specs for when they decide to switch especially with dual-specs approaching soon. Remember that dual specs will not be an acceptable reason to roll against classes that need an item for the spec that they run with predominantly.

Also, know the stat requirement for your spec. If you are unsure, you can always ask the raid if that item could be an upgrade for you instead of just rolling need or passing on an item. If you are afraid of coming off like a noob, you can always send a tell to the raid/class leader.

For melee, it would be helpful to note that defense rating, parry, dodge and excessive armor on items are "Tank spec" items. For casters, spirit and mp5 while helpful for dps specs are mainly healy stats. Of course it becomes an FFA item if it is coupled with haste and crit, but Spirit and mp5 along with excessive Spell damage are mainly healy items.

Rule #2.Free loots regardless if they are blues or epics are always for open rolls. That means that for this guild at least, even if you have already won an epic item, you still have a chance to roll on extra loot like epic quest items, bags or random goodie bags. Now this isn't the case with most PUGs as these items are normally given as "consolation prizes" for attendees who did not win anything but as we are all "friends" in this guild and we intend to run things together over and over again, this should not be an issue.

Rule #3.If you are an enchanter, bring it up at the start of the run. Ask the group to pass on items unless they need it as you will roll greed. Now this does not mean that you get to go home with the shinies. After the run, announce to the party how many shards you've accumulated and ask them to roll for them. Rank the rolls and award shards accordingly among people who did not win anything. If you have more than enough, you may opt to let the person who has already won a blue to roll for the extra shard.

In raids however, we usually assign a guild member to shard items and just place them in the guild bank for everyone to use whenever needed. This is also the case in most PUG raids, call it a perk for organizing the raid.

Rule #4. In joining PUG raids, always ask what the looting policy is first. I have personally been invited in a raid before where I assumed because of the sheer number of PUG-ged members, they would opt for open rolls. But hell no. They would not let anyone roll on anything unless their guild members do not need the items. And since it was one of the first few 25-man Naxx runs, of course they needed all the drops. You may get yourself in a long, unrewarding run if that is the case so always make sure.

Rule #5. One epic per person. Okay do not fret. This rule is not strictly followed in our guild runs. BUT. If you have won an epic item already, be polite and pass on the next epic item if somebody else needs it. The goal of the raid is to reward everyone for their time spent in game so let's try and make it a worthwhile experience for everyone.

If nobody needs the succeeding epic drops, go ahead and roll. It is not uncommon that we do "twink a person" runs and we really do not like disechanting epics so even if it's for an off-spec that you won't be playing for at least another millenia, just go ahead.

Anyway, I'll stop at #5. If there are any other clarifications, be sure to ask your raid leader or any guild "elders" before your runs, be it a guild run or a PUG.

In closing, do not be greedy as we can always re-run stuff for you. Be considerate and always have fun.

With Dale's go-ahead, I marked a Naxx10 run on the in-game guild calendar, two weeks from now. We have enough geared and skilled people to do it (regularly)--we just have to be online at the same time. I hope the two weeks notice is enough time for people to plan their schedules and make it!

I've been there as DPS plenty of times but have no experience tanking it. I'll be researching boss fights and pulls before then, assuming I'm called on to tank. Can't be doing trial and error there, like I have been on my virgin heroic tanking runs. If you've never been there, please do the same. :)

Talents

BLOOD

* Blood Aura: Replaced with Improved Blood Presence. This allows the deathknight to keep the healing from damage done bonus of Blood Presence in any presence, and increases healing received while in Blood Presence.
* Blood-Gorged now grants armor penetration instead of expertise.
* Bloody Strikes now increases Blood Boil damage instead of Pestilence.
* Bloodworms now heal more.
* Dancing Rune Weapon: Fixed a bug making it trigger an unusual number of effects from the weapon equipped by the Death Knight. In addition, it will now only echo Death Knight spells whose primary purpose is dealing damage. Also corrected a bug making the effect last 8 seconds longer than intended.
* Scent of Blood will now proc on a dodge, parry or taking damage, and internal cooldown lowered to 10 from 20 sec.

* Arcane Blast stacking effect is no longer considered a Magic effect and will not be dispelled.

FROST

* Improved Water Elemental: Renamed Enduring Winter. Instead of the Water Elemental increasing mana regeneration for the Mage's party, casting Frostbolt now has a 33/66/100% chance to provide the Replenishment buff to up to 10 people in the Mage's party or raid.

Paladin

* Auras will now persist through death.

* Haunt: Now only increases your shadow damage-over-time on the target. (No longer includes non-Shadow damage over time spells.)
* Malediction: No longer increases the effect of Curse of the Elements.
* Pandemic: This talent has been reduced to a 1-point talent, now grants your Corruption and Unstable Affliction the capability to critically hit.
* Shadow Embrace: Now only increases the damage done by your shadow damage periodic spells.
* Siphon Life: The Siphon Life spell has been removed. Siphon Life now causes your Corruption spell to instantly heal you for 40% of the damage done.

ARMS

* Blood Frenzy improved to 2/4% increased damage.
* Heroic Throw missile speed increased.

Professions

Alchemy

* Blackmouth Oil and Fire Oil no longer require a vial.
* Increased the health granted by the Flask of Stoneblood.
* The Mercurial Stone is no longer required as a tool for alchemists. It is instead a green quality bind-on-equip trinket.

Blacksmithing

* Most of the recipes in the 1-300 skill range of blacksmithing have had their stats updated to be more useful.
* Added a new recipe for the Titansteel Spellblade.
* Titanium Plating now reduces the duration of disarm effects by 50% as well as increasing your block value.

Cooking

* Grub now sells the Dig Rat Stew recipe to players who completed the quest.
* Prospector Khazgorm, found in Bael Modan in southern Barrens, now sells the recipe for Dig Rat Stew to the Alliance.

Enchanting

* Added a recipe for enchanting staves with spell power.
* Several recipes in the 250-300 skill range have been rebalanced.

Jewelcrafting

* Added a new recipe to cut black diamonds.

Leatherworking

* Shadowskin Gloves and Dusky Boots no longer require Shadowcat Hide to create, but instead require an equal quantity of Shadow Silk. Shadowcat Hides can no longer be obtained from skinning.

Quests

* The fight event for the "Grim(oire) Business" quest at Vim'gol's Circle in the Blade's Edge Mountains now only requires one character to stand within a fire circle in order to summon Vim'gol the Vile. However, it still takes five characters, one in each of the fire circles, in order to interrupt Vim'gol the Vile's Unholy Growth cast.

Eye of Eternity

* Malygos will now properly delay before breathing after a Vortex on Heroic difficulty.

Naxxramas

* The Chains of Kel'Thuzad will no longer reset the raid's threat.
* The Portal of Shadows created by Shade of Naxxramas will only persist for a maximum of one minute.
* Players with pets who attempt to use the Obedience Crystals in Naxxramas will have their pets dismissed automatically so they may possess an Understudy.

More Mage Nerfs @ 3.0.9

A last minute change was made to the mage Arcane Barrage spell which reduced its spell power coefficient. This change did not make it into the 3.0.9 patch notes. We will be carefully evaluating this change and its effects on game balance in both PvE and PvP. If you have constructive feedback to provide, please do so in this thread.

Leading Healers in Raids

In a matter of a week or two (or even sooner), Jollibee will have grown to having more than 18 raid-ready characters in its ranks. Although we have successfully cleared part of Naxx-10, it might not be long before we start hosting Naxx-25 runs.

I found this excellent article on wowhead about Healer Leaders in Raids. Unlike DPS and tanks, healers in successful raids often involve a layer of organization (paladin buff assignments, healing assignments, etc) separate from the raid itself.

Love is in the Air Achievement Guide

Here's a simple Love is in the Air guide that I found in Wowhead.

Use Unbestowed Friendship Bracelets to mend 20 broken hearts.
Unbestowed Friendship Ringx20. you get 2-4 from every gift that you get on the hour interval. Similar to kiss the reveler during the feast to try to get mistletoe and such, you need to use a valentine card on a guard, and assuming you get the gift and not heartbroken, you will get a 1 hour debuff that prevents you from getting the major gifts until it's gone. it is not possible to remove the debuff by any means other than waiting.

Use 10 Silver Shafted Arrows.
Silver Shafted Arrowx10. you have the possibility of getting 5 of these from the hourly gift (about a 20% chance), or if you don't want to wait, you can collect an Alliance Gift Collection/Horde Gift Collection. You get them from collecting all the other random things in the giftboxes, both hourly ones and normal ones, from every main city. you combine them into larger gift boxes until you combine all the main city ones into the faction one. You can do this multiple time, and upon completion, you have your choice between Handful of Rose Petalsx5 Love Rocketx5 Silver Shafted Arrowx5, and you will also get 1 Box of Chocolates.

Get completely smashed, put on your best perfume, throw a handful of rose petals on Sraaz and then /kiss him.

In Dalaran, sit down with someone at a Picnic Basket (it can be their basket).
The Romantic Picnic Basket is found inside the hourly gift boxes at about a 5% chance. Last year's trick to trade the gift itself will no longer work, as 3.0.8 will make all gifts soulbound.

Use 10 Love Rockets in 20 seconds.

Gain 1 of each Gifts of Adoration.

Use a Handful of Rose Petals on various race/class combos.
Simple enough, Handful of Rose Petals are earned exactly the same way as Silver Shafted Arrow. only difference is that if you get it from a gift, you get exactly 5.

Eat the 4 Love is in the Air candies.
You get the chocolates from Box of Chocolates which have a 20% drop rate from the hourly gifts, and you can also get the boxes from the gift turn-in.

Get every message from the Candies.

Enjoy and become a Love Fool.

Get a Bouquet of Red Roses.
The bouquet drops off of certain bosses in Azeroth. The current list is old, however, and they're likely to give new bosses the item to compensate for the level difference between the bosses and the players.

/pity a Love Fool in Wintergrasp, AB Blacksmith, Naxx, Old Stratholme, and GUrubashi Arena (in STV).

Of course the ultimate goal for doing all of these achievements is to complete 'What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been' which rewards you with a Violet Proto-Drake. For these guys though, the title is enough of a reward.

So set aside some precious dungeon and quest time and be a Love Fool just like 'em. Be waiting for some of you to mend my heart if it gets broken in game. See ya.

Guild 101 aka Guild Rules

I never expected for the guild to grow this large and this fast. That said, it is inevitable for a group of people who have their own principles, priorities and views to disagree and debate, and sometimes, to clash.

While we will be practicing maximum tolerance to everyone's playing style and attitude, we would all need to follow the following to ensure Jollibee stays a happy and fun place to be in. These rules are pretty basic and should actually be common sense, but I feel like posting it where everyone can see it will make sure we all remember them:

1) Please respect all other players in the game. Just because you are behind a keyboard does not absolve you of treating people with respect and decency. Griefing of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes harassment and/or derogatory comments of a sexual, racial, etc. nature whether this be in Guild Chat, regular chat, or otherwise.

2) Please keep all conversations, especially on the Guild Chat channel as 'PG' as possible. We do have younger players in our guild as well as some kids of members. Excessive swearing is not acceptable. Please be responsible with what you type. The availability of a profanity filter does not absolve you of your responsibility.

3) Please keep all arguments off the Guild Chat channel. If you have a disagreement please take it to private tells/whispers. Do NOT resort to name calling, swearing, etc.

4) Benefiting financially from guildmates is frowned upon. Do not advertise items for sale in Guild Chat. (Advertising items you are giving away FREE however is encouraged). Selling items given to you or crafted for you by other guildmates is also frowned upon.

5) No text-speak. Please try to speak in straight English or Filipino. Ok lang naman yung konting abbreviations, specially the in-game ones but not everyone can understand your "parn nmn q ng nstns pra mkha q ung bw plz!"

6) Everyone is free to withdraw anything from the guildbank only if your toon will be USING it for yourself. Before withdrawing, please announce in Guildchat what you are taking and why just so everyone knows. Also remember that when you put something in the guildbank, that converts the item to public property and anyone can get it.

7) If you invite someone to the guild, they are your responsibility, do not invite blindly. Make sure they are ok with a Filipino-speaking guild and that they follow the rules we have set for ourselves.

Here are the 3.1 class changes that have been announced so far:

PRIEST

* Divine Spirit – this spell is now a core ability available to all priests.
* Discipline has access to a new talent, Power Word: Barrier. (Think of it as Power Word: Shield for your whole group).
* Several area of effect (AOE) heal spells have been improved: Prayer of Healing can be cast on any groups in your raid party. Holy Nova's mana cost has been reduced. Circle of Healing now heals for more.
* Shadow priest PvP survivability has been improved: Shadow Form now reduces magic as well as physical damage. Dispersion now removes snares.
* Penance – this spell can now be targeted on the priest.
* Serendipity – this talent now reduces the cast time of Greater Heal and Prayer of Healing when Binding Heal or Flash Heal are cast.
* We are also working to give Holy additional PvP utility.

ROGUE

* Hunger for Blood – instead of a self-buff, this ability can only be used when there is a bleed effect on the target. However, it has no stacks and grants a 15% damage bonus.
* Adrenaline Rush – the cooldown on this ability has been lowered.
* Lightning Reflexes – reduced to 3 ranks. In addition to 2/4/6% dodge, this talent now also grants 4/7/10% passive melee haste.
* Killing Spree – while this ability is active, the rogue does 20% additional damage.
* Savage Combat – now causes 2/4% physical damage done.
* Mace Specialization – this talent now grants haste in addition to armor penetration.

SHAMAN

* Chain Lightning – now jumps to 4 targets but does less damage. We wanted to make the distinction between Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning more clear.
* Storm, Earth and Fire – this talent now increases all damage done by Flame Shock, not just periodic damage.
* Spirit Weapons – now reduces all threat, not just melee threat.
* Unleashed Rage – reduced to 2 ranks, now also increases your critical strike chance with melee attacks by 1/2%.
* Totem streamlining: The Mana Spring and Healing Stream Totems have been combined. The Disease Cleansing and Poison Cleansing Totems have been combined.
* We are also working on giving Enhancement and Elemental more PvP utility.

WARLOCK

* Improved Shadow Bolt – this talent now provides a 5% spell critical strike buff (similar to Improved Scorch).
* Improved Soul Leech – this talent now provides Replenishment (similar to shadow priests)
* Drain Soul now has a chance to produce Soul Shards even if the target doesn’t die.
* Siphon Life no longer as an active ability but the talent grants the old Siphon Life effect to Corruption.
* Curse of Recklessness and Curse of Weakness have been combined into one spell
* Consume Shadows – this Voidwalker ability is no longer channeled but has a cooldown.
* Several other warlock talents have had their ranks reduced, their effects changed or removed. This list includes but is not limited to Demonic Empathy, Shadow Embrace, Eradication, Suppression, and Pandemic.
* Additional new talents have been added.

DRUID

* Savage Defense – this is a new passive ability. When a druid in Dire Bear form deals a melee critical strike, the druid gains a damage shield equal to 25% of their attack power. The next hit completely removes the shield regardless of how much damage was done.
* Survival of the Fittest has had its bonus armor reduced to compensate for the above increase in damage mitigation.
* Faerie Fire (and similar debuffs) now reduces armor by 5%. See Sunder Armor in the warrior update below for additional details.
* Thorns and Nature’s Grasp can be cast in Tree of Life form.
* Survival Instincts now works in Moonkin form.
* Replenish – to avoid confusion, this talent has been renamed “Revitalize.” It now also works with Wild Growth.
* We are also looking at increasing the sustained (not burst) damage of feral druids in cat form.

WARRIOR

* Changing stances now has a much reduced cost: you lose a maximum of 20 rage (10 with Tactical Mastery). For example, if you have 100 rage and change stances, you will have 80 rage remaining. If you have 10 rage and change stances, all of your rage is lost. In addition, we may change the penalties associated with some stances.
* You now gain rage when damage done to you is absorbed, such as through a Power Word: Shield.
* Blood Frenzy now causes 2/4% physical damage done.
Sunder Armor (and similar debuffs) now reduces armor by 4% per application, and is now a single rank. Creature armor has been globally reduced so that debuffed targets should take about the same damage from physical attacks that they did before this change. The net effect should be that this debuff is slightly less mandatory in PvE and is not disproportionately more powerful against cloth targets in PvP.
* We are also adding increased damage to Arms, possibly through Overpower or Slam.
* We are also looking at granting rage when the warrior blocks, dodges or parries.

MAGE

* Improved Water Elemental – this talent has been removed and replaced with a new talent that grants Replenishment (similar to Shadow priests).
* We are also working on a way to give frost mages Ice Lance “Shatter combos” in PvE.
* We are also working on more survivability for Fire spec in PvP.
* We are also working on making Spirit a more useful and interesting stat for all mages.

PALADIN

* Blessing of Kings – this spell is now a base ability trainable by all paladins.
* Exorcism – this spell now causes damage to all types of enemy targets. However, it always critical strikes undead or demon targets. This change should make sure paladin damage doesn’t drop when going from Naxxramas to later tiers of content.
* Shield of the Templar now causes your Avenger’s Shield and Shield of the Righteousness to silence targets for 3 sec. The old damage bonus of this talent has been folded into Holy Shield, Avenger’s Shield, and Shield of the Righteousness.
* Ardent Defender, Improved Hammer of Justice, One-Handed Weapon Specialization and more have had their ranks reduced.
* Guarded by the Light – no longer reduces the mana cost of shield spells, but now has a 50/100% chance to refresh Divine Plea duration.
* Judgements of the Just – now also reduces the cooldown of Hammer of Justice by 10/20 seconds and increases the duration of the Seal of Justice stun effect by 0.5/1 second.

HUNTER

* Consumable ammunition has been removed from the game. Arrows and bullets no longer stack, but are not consumed. Ranged attack speed bonus gained from quivers and ammo bags will be preserved in a different capacity.
* A new tier of hunter pet talents have been added. In particular, this allows Beastmaster hunters to improve their damage per second (DPS) with their 51 point talent.
* Hunting Party – this talent has been reduced to 3 ranks and also grants a passive bonus to the hunter.
* Piercing Shots – this talent has been changed. Your Aimed, Steady and Chimera Shots cause the target to bleed for 10/20/30% of damage dealt for 8 sec.
* Sniper Training – this talent has been changed. After standing still for 6 sec, you gain a 2/4/6% damage bonus to Steady, Aimed and Explosive Shot.
* We are also looking to add additional trap functionality to Survival.

DEATH KNIGHT

* Gargoyle and Unholy Blight have swapped talent positions. Gargoyle’s damage has increased and runic power cost per time has decreased.
* Pestilence – this spell no longer causes damage but just spreads diseases. Blood Boil is intended to be the general area attack, and has been changed to be castable on targets with no diseases on them, but does extra damage if diseases are present.
* Unbreakable Armor now absorbs a flat amount of damage that increases as your armor increases. It no longer boosts armor.
* The Frost tree has been shuffled. Among other things, PvP talents such as Endless Winter are closer to the top of the tree where Blood and Unholy death knights can access them.
* Sudden Doom – this talent now procs a Death Coil rather than requiring an additional button click. It works similarly to shamans’ Lightning Overload.
* Magic Suppression and Blood of the North have been reduced to 3 ranks for the same benefit.
* Blood Gorged now grants armor penetration instead of expertise.

Epilogue

As we put this issue to rest for good, let me say a few things.

We are growing as a guild at a rate that we did not anticipate but having all these players online all the time is a welcome and pleasant change. We enjoy the company and the camaraderie both in game and in real life. In the last few weeks, we have added people that transferred from other servers, returning players and a lot of newbies. We have tried and will continue trying to group with new members and help them learn their class mechanics for optimal playstyle for once they decide to join our heroic runs and raids.

That said, we are also a casual guild by definition that just happens to get enough people to raid from time to time. We do not want to pressure people to do things that they do not want to do nor ask them to spend more time than what they have allocated for playing.

In game there are a few set rules that we go by. These are common courtesies that are applied for when we group with other players and even when dealing with other guildies. These rules are set so it would be easier for us to find PUGs and get groups for anything that we need. In the exchange of words in previous posts, reputation has been discussed. This is important as we progress in game. We do not want to be branded as a guild of bad players and ninja looters. But beyond this is one very important fact that we have lost sight of while engaged in a heated debate about what should and should not have been done. Simple fact is that not all of us are experienced raiders and mistakes are bound to be made.

In the case of Koinonia (Lee), I personally apologize for giving you much flak about the error in rolling. The point I made was simply that what happened was technically a mistake and other players had every right to complain and bitch about it as we would have done if it were us leading the raid and a filler did the same. That said, we also recognize that it was not done intentionally nor maliciously on your end as you weren't in voice chat and are not versed in the "common" raid looting policies. It was a tough learning experience that we hope would not be experienced by other members of the guild. We hope that this clarification ends whatever doubts may have arisen about your integrity as a player because we do trust that and we believe in your innocence.

While in that subject, when joining PUG raids, always ask first and foremost what the looting policy is. Usually it would be open rolls and there would be a master looter. In the absence of one, always pass first on loot until the proper classes/main specs can roll on items. This allows for upgrades to be given to the appropriate class and spec while putting off-specs on 2nd priority. Next rule is 1 purple per person unless nobody else needs. This is so that all 10 or 25 people attending the raid will be compensated for spending time and helping out. If and when nobody can use the next loot item is the only time that someone who has already won should roll. This is often discussed anyway because nobody really wants to disenchant purples. Finally know your spec and the stats that you need. In every raid you will always encounter 1 person at least who will tell you that you cannot roll on an item. And usually they may have a point as they know your toons/spec better than you. Always know the required stats for the spec that you are running with, that way you don't get in contact with know-it-alls. Both Imman and I have been guilty of this anyway.

We have always had a no drama policy but we are learning that it is getting quite inevitable as we grow in numbers. People would always disagree on things and this blog would always be a venue for it hence the open authorship for guild members. I believe that it is healthy to air gripes and complaints in the proper venue but let us make sure that at the end of the day, we sit down and discuss things until they are settled. We are all grown-ups in this guild and everyone is expected to act accordingly. Basic rule in game and in life should always be 'Do not do unto others, what you do not want others to do to you.' Keep that in mind and always do what's fun for you. After all, this is a game.

Clarification on Naxx 25

On Imman's last post, let me say this. I would be the first to step out had I thought that we were treated badly, but there are always different versions of an event.

Here is my version.

While it is true that other people rolled greed on the epics that dropped, they rolled right after it dropped because of the unexpected popping and the absence of the master loot.

In my screen the logs looked clear.

XXX rolled greed on epic 1.
XXX passed.
XXX rolled need on epic 1.
XXX rolled greed on Epic 1.
XXX pls pass on epics.
XXX pass.
XXX passed.
XXX passed.

15 more names passed on Epics.

Koin rolled need on Epic 1.
Koin rolled need on Epic 2.
XXX passed.
XXX passed.
XXX WTF why didnt you pass.

As I said, I would always stand up and be the first to walk out if I think that we are right in the matter. Point is I thought we were in the wrong. It was a misunderstanding, yes. But people who raid long enough would know that voice chat or not, until proper raid looting rules are established, we pass on loot. This is even the way we do it on heroics. Open rolls in raids always meant having a master looter asking everyone to roll and in the absence of one, you pass first. That was the understanding of at least 90% of that raid including myself which is the reason why some people reacted violently.

Rachella, the guild's co-leader whispered me in private that people thought that Koin ninja'd the items and wanted him kicked. I assured her that it was an honest mistake. And so out of respect to me and the guild, they did not and they just answerd the clamors up until the end mind you when Koin decided to leave.

Secondly, I did not imply that we were penalized for the initial looting mistakes. It was an assignment error that Rachella and I discussed but apparently the raid leader did not think that the item was well worth it for him to explain. That was his only mistake if anything. As for the tanking ring, I did not think that it was a deliberate attempt at not letting you win. As with most epics that look nice, rolling on an item and figuring out at a later time if it will benefit you or not is very common. Remember, these are people that raid regularly and yes, they should of thought of who could have benefited the items more but as we are not regulars the "caring" part is not that substantial for them to overcome the initial "oooh shiny" reaction.

All in all, we were not treated like second class citizens, we were treated like any PUG members of a raid who are there to learn the fights. And the my goal for inviting you guys to join was the same. We needed to learn the fights from a more established raid so as to avoid multiple wipes when we do the wipes ourselves and get upgrades along the way. If anything, we were treated considerably well as other guild runs would not have been as forgiving about mistakes like that as they would always assume the raiders to know raid rules. They knew that we were new and so we were given the proper leeway despite the inevitable clamors that followed.

Again, I am not known for backing out when I think that I or the people that I know have been wronged. NOt in real life and never in game. But I also stand by what I think is right. Personally, I would raid with those people again as I have over the last 2+ years. I would reinvite guild members of any open slots if needed up until we can progress on our own. If you guys think that we were treated badly, simply decline from joining so as to avoid the drama but there is absolutely no need to the way I see it. What happened was an honest mistake from all sides. End of story.

a lot of things happened today that made me think that, as a guild, we should start asking ourselves the question of what is important to us, since we're starting to progress into raiding content.

dale grazed a bit on the events that transpired on his previous post but these are exactly what i want to give attention to.

1. Koinonia (Lee)

the first thing i want to talk about is the incident that happened right after killing the first boss in naxx 25. just to give a background to those who were not online a while ago, a regular naxx 25 raid group invited 6 jollibee members through dale as fillers for raid slots.

prior to even pulling the first set of trash, i noticed that the looting system was set to group loot so i whispered Rachella, the raid contact person, to ask the raid leader to discuss the looting rules since i was a bit confused myself as to why loot system was on group. they DID mention on vent that loot was on open roll, and when the raid leader proceeded to pull the first set of trash without talking about loot and ignoring my whisper completely, i assumed that they would operate the "open rolls" concept through normal need/greed system.

we knifed through the initial trash pulls and the first boss of the arachnid section easily enough.

however, the moment the boss died, the looting need/greed pane appeared on everyone's screen because... surprise, surprise - apparently the raid leaders forgot to set looting system on master looter.

and here's where things got ugly...

our guidlmate, koinonia (lee), rolled need on both epic cloth items that appeared on his screen and he won one of those epic items. words similar to "ninja" started being thrown around and minor raid drama (and grumbling) ensues. people started giving lee flack for rolling need, COMPLETELY IGNORING THE FACT that other people in the raid rolled on those items and it just happened that Lee was the one who won it.

the raid resumes after a few minutes.

upon downing the final boss for the arachnid quarter, lee rolls on a healer item and people started saying out loud on vent and in raid chat that he had NO RIGHT to roll after what "he had done". people went so far as to say that he shouldnt even roll at all since his rolls were going to be ignored.

EH P****GINANG MGA BOPOLS PALA SILA EH!

i'm sorry but this just REALLY REALLY PISSES ME OFF.

it's THEIR FAULT that the looting system was on group loot. i have been to enough heroics with lee to personally vouch for the fact that he has NEVER rolled for something he didn't need. even if they say that it should be "common courtesy" to pass on items, what the fuck is that?!

looting rules WERE NOT explained prior to the run - all they said was loot was on open rolls. as a guild, we usually run heroics on a "need if you need, greed if you're an enchanter, otherwise pass" basis, so how the fuck in the seven circles of hell would lee have known that "common courtesy" dictated a pass, not a roll for need, decision?!

i myself was about to roll need on the plate tanking shoulders if people had not started shouting in vent, and lee was not on vent when we ran the raid.

OH. MY. GOD. the sheer stupidity of these people. if lee wanted to ninja loot, he could have easily rolled on all the other epic non-cloth items and then dropped raid. but no... he stayed in raid and healed these stupid morons the best he could.

what pisses me off about this issue is that this was an HONEST mistake by lee that was caused by a mistake made by the raid leaders, and yet people found it so very easy and convenient to point fingers and insinuate that lee rolling need on items that he actually needed was a premeditated act of pure evil greediness.

2. Unano

On to the next thing that really really annoyed me about this 25 man run. An epic cloth caster dps head piece dropped on the 2nd (or was it last?) boss of arachnid quarter. Unano won the roll fair and square.

Loot master gives the cloth item to the 3rd highest in the roll. WTF WAS THAT ABOUT?!

Hayleybrianna, the mage to whom the item was given, was actually surprised enough that the item went to him/her that she commented in raid chat that she didn't win the roll, Unano did.

reaction from guild leaders and master looter? NADA. NO REACT. it was as if nothing happened.

now i am not sure if this was an honest mistake on the loot master's part or if this was some sort of "punishment" for lee rolling on items on the first boss.

if this was an honest mistake then why was there no admission in raid channel or even a whisper to unano that the loot was assigned wrongly?

on the other hand, if this was some sort of punishment for lee rolling on the items as dale seems to imply two posts back, then it is worse. you withhold loot from a person just because of something his guildmate did or did not do? what kind of fucked up logic is that?! unano and lee, and everyone else in jollibee that joined that raid, gave their 100%. i cannot see any possible logical reason why this loot was withheld from unano and assigned to someone else when it was made clear that loot was on open rolls.

3. The tanking ring.

this item - Sand-Worn Band dropped twice during the whole run. if you care enough to follow the link to wowhead, you will see that this ring has defense rating and parry rating.

the first time it dropped, one of the pally off tanks won the roll. no issue there.

the second time it dropped, i was the highest on the roll until the druid main tank (who was responsible for the loot master booboo) rolled on the ring and won the roll.

okay... i seriously have an issue with this.

first of all, the druid was wearing far better tanking rings than this item. secondly, any druid who has the gall to main tank and raid lead a 25 man heroic would know that since the opening of wrath, defense rating is absolutely unnecessary for druids, and parry rating much less so since druids CAN'T PARRY.

assuming that this particular tank was ignorant of the fact that defense rating is totally useless on a bear (putting aside the fact that NONE of his current tanking gear has defense rating anyways), i inspected him after the succeeding boss pull and noticed that he was NOT wearing the ring. if he was indeed under the delusion that defense rating is a bear tanking stat, or that this particular ring drop was better than any of his rings, he would have been wearing the ring drop.

the whole point of this entry is simply this: what is important to us, as a guild? is it just gearing up, progressing through raid content and kissing the asses of jerkwads just because they can farm naxx 25 and allow us to tag along with them like 2nd class citizens? or is it more important to us that we are a guild because we enjoy playing WoW together, and we look out for each other?

Heigan the Unclean

Anger Management in Naxxramas

I got invited by some old game friends today from the guild Anger Management for 25-man Naxx. They needed to fill some more spots for their regulars and so I suggested that they invite a couple of people from the guild to fill in. I am glad to say that our guild members performed really well as reflected by the meters below.

Guild members present in the run were Ramby and Unano for DPS who landed in the top 3 spots. I've said this in game and I'll say it again, way to go Unano, great job in there. Draech came as off-tank and dominating the healing meters were Chakaness and Lisper (Deathleo). Woot and /applause.

There was a bit of confusion on the loot system that prompted Koinonia (Lee) to leave after we cleared the Spider wing at which point Ashkael stepped in to fill the missing healy spot for two more bosses.

As for loots, Ramby, Chakaness, Koin and Lisben all got awesome upgrades while Unano was not given an item that he won as people were still haywire about the initial looting errors.

In another raid that I joined today (25-man OS), Ramby also topped the damage meters and the first thing that people asked was, "What's his guild?" Sure they all chorused, WTH is Jollibee and someone sent me a message in private if I knew that the guild is named after a "Philipino" fastfood chain, but hey, we are getting the word out that we are great performers in game. Keep it up guys and if you have any questions on stats that you need to work on and maybe specs for optimal raiding, post them here and maybe we can help you research for guides.

And of course as always, don't forget that it's a game so even if people bitch and get mean sometimes, don't pay attention and just have fun. ^^

Jollibee raids... for real!

This weekend, Jollibee guild members retired the twink Karazhan and ZA runs to raid for real. First stop, 10-man Obsidian Sanctum (screenshot above). It was a very smooth and easy run with optimal tanking, awesome healing and 90% of the DPS doing more damage than the tanks. Well, except for the early main boss pull because of Draech's (Imman) Crashin' Thrashin' Racer Controller that caused 60% casualty. Hehe. That aside, the first raid was done like a pro and we got too cocky that we decided to head to Naxxramas and try our leet skillz there.

Naxxramas part one cleared the entire Arachnid wing after a bit of strategy swapping. All in all, it was a decent learning curve. I say decent coz my gear did not turn yellow from the wipes and I am confident that with everyone knowing exactly what to do now (from all the practice lol), kaya na i-one shot yan next week.

On Sunday, with Chakaness and Bratinello leading the group (minus Ramby, Ash and Draech this time) the guild successfully raided 10-man Vault and headed back to Naxx and killed Patchwerk.

Dealing with Tanks - 10 easy ways to get Tanks to want your DPS in their group by Imman

1. DO NOT PULL unless specifically instructed to do so.

Not even if you are a hunter with MD, a mage who can invis, or a Nelf who can shadowmeld. Just... DO NOT. Resist the urge. This is WoW, not ragnarok.

2. Educate, not criticize. Tanking, like healing, is composed of two primary factors - gear, and skill.

When you give constructive criticism with regards to gear (like how much expertise, defense rating, etc your tank needs), make sure it is backed by mathematical data and you can point your tank to the proper online resources for him/her to be able to decide for himself/herself.

Instances in WOTLK are usually stress-tests for tanks and healers. Only a few encounters require DPS to actually think beyond pushing their pewpew buttons.

It is not the same for tanks. Tanks have to memorize pulls, encounters, which mob casts spells and which don't, and so on. That, on top of maintaining threat, making sure the healer, if not most of the dps, is alive, and maximizing their mitigation.

If you know the run more than your tank, educate your tank.

3. CONTROL YOUR THREAT. Blizzard has a build in threat meter. Use it. Tanks don't care if you're doing 100000000 dps if you keep wiping the raid/group due to over aggro.

There are only two situations when a tank will lose aggro: 1) bad tank, 2) bad dps. A simple test to determine which of this two cases is as follows:

Is your tank losing aggro to the healer? If yes, you have a bad tank. Refer to item no 2 in this list.

Is your tank losing aggro to the DPS? If yes, and you are underdpsing or outdpsing the tank by less than 20% then again, it's a tank problem. Otherwise, consult class guides on the internet on how you can reduce your aggro while maximizing your dps.

4. DO NOT PUSH/PULL MOBS beyond the tank's MELEE range.

Pushing/pulling mobs beyond the tank's melee range through the use of skills like death grip (for dps DKs), thunderstorm (ele shamans), Typhoon (moonkin druids), Blastwave (fire mages), Fear (locks/priests) is EXTREMELY annoying for tanks. Tanks lose their rotation, they have to run after the mobs, risk losing threat to dps and risk aggroing other mobs and you may end up wiping the group.

You have been warned.

5. WAIT FOR IT. Yes, we all know you are going crazy trying to catch up on the DPS meter against that overpowered ret pally, but DO NOT stun/charge/felguard charge/attack mobs while they are not yet within melee range of the tank. In short: do not do anything until you see your tank hitting your target.

6. Do not taunt targets off your tank (applies to classes with taunt abilities only) when there is no threat of an impending wipe or a need to do so. This is annoying regardless of what class is tanking, but more so if the tank is a warrior, pally or bear as they lose rage/mana from it lowering threat throughput.

It doesn't matter if you have the gear to handle the damage. Taunting targets off the main tank is considered bad form and etiquette. If you find irresistably orgasmic pleasure from things hitting you, inform the group prior to the run so that either they can decide to make you the main tank, or decide what method pulls are going to be handled (e.g. which mobs the main tank will hold and which mobs you will hold).

7. Protect your healer/s. Your role as DPS is simply not to burn the enemy down, but to make sure that your group succeeds in completing the pull. Do not be selfish. Tanks appreciate DPS who are have the sense to give up a few seconds of DPSing to root/slow down/incapacitate a mob en route to the healer that the tank has not picked up yet.

Remember: Dead healer -> Dead tank -> Wipe.

8. Mind the CC. This is less applicable now that most of WOTLK heroic content can be tanked without CC, but in the occassional situation where you do need to perform crowd control, always be aware if your polymorph/hurricane/entangling roots/hex/sap/freezing trap/etc is about to expire.

Also, and more importantly, DO NOT BREAK crowd control unless instructed to do so. Uncontrolled mobs will head straight to the healer and wipe the group. Let the tank break CC at their own pace.

Additionally, there is a misconception that that stunlocking/hurricane-ing mobs will be helpful to tanks since they will be receiving less incoming damage, but in situations where you have both a capable tank and healer, this will actually be counterproductive as three out of the four tanking classes depend on mobs attacking them to generate mana/rage.

9. Do not roll on tanking gear unless you have specifically informed the group, especially the tank, that you will be rolling for tank gear or a specific item prior to the run and they allow you to roll on these items. If you want an item that the tank needs, even if it is an upgrade for your off-spec, give way to the tank.

Just a note: The coming of WOTLK has homogenized most of melee leather drops. This means that more often than not, feral tanks will desire the same stats as feral dps/rogues/hunters/enhancement shamans in leather drops, ergo, do not lock out your bear tanks from rolling on what you may think may be solely melee dps leather gear. If the weapon/leather gear drop has any of the ff stats: expertise, hit, stamina, agility, strength, or dodge, don't be surprised if your feral bear rolls against rogues/cats for it.

10. DPS. You are DPS. That is your role. Make sure your damage done is higher than the tank at the end of the run. That, or make sure you bring some mind blowingly uber utility that the group can't do without (like the moonkin dance). Other than that, you are dead weight.

Learn your class, maximize your skills, polish your rotations, research your gear, learn to gem and research encounters. In short, strive to be a better DPS.

If won't matter to tanks or to groups in general if you can follow numbers 1 through 9 flawlessly but fall way below the tank's damage done.

Back when Karazhan was the most elusive right of passage to the more difficult 25-man raids, it was also a skill test for tanks, healers and dps-ers. That's right. DPS-ers do need skill just like any other class that works to keep the raid alive.

In one general chat discussion while we were plowing through the trash leading to Moroes, the topic went to how mages were able to beat the crap out of the hunter in our group in DPS at a time when they were still overpowered. A warlock commented that he doesn't get why people have to obsess about DPS. I get this same comment from some guildies as well. The answer is simple. While the tank's job is to keep aggro, and the healers are supposed to keep everyone alive, the main (if not the only) job of the DPS is to deal damage. To not care whether you place last in damage meters or fall below the tank (which is the case most of the time especially in WotLK) is not fulfilling your role in the group.

In line with this, here are some tips on how to improve your damage.

1. Most important of all is to get a threat meter. We wouldn't want you dying in your quest to improve your DPS so this is something that you should do first and foremost.

2. Get a damage meter. The best one that you can use is Recount. The reason for that is because recount will give you a detailed breakdown of where your damage is coming from and what particular spells/abilities you use the most. In a mostly AoE situation and you see that your main damage source is frostbolt or shadowbolt, then that means you are doing something wrong.

3. Group up with other players of the same class. That way you can compare the amount of damage that you do. If they do better, check out recount and see what spells they use the most. You can also ask them what rotations work for them.

4. Read up on the best spec/rotation for raiding and/or heroics. Most of the time, these are different specs. For mages for example, frost is still the strongest build for heroics simply because it has the strongest AoE. Arcane and FFB specs are the strongest single target damage dealers and are more ideal for raids where trash die too fast and bosses take longer to kill.

5. Maximize your pets. If you are a pet-wielding class use them all the time. If you are a mage, use your water elemental every single time it's up. Set it on defensive and summon it with a damage macro as it will also boost the dps of your pet. For other classes, make sure that you use the appropriate pet for your spec so that the synergy will also benefit you. Don't let your pet stand idly on your side. Know when to set it on defensive and know when to set it on passive. Defensive usually works especially in aoe situations so they can keep moving on to the next target. Make sure that any kind of taunt ability is OFF when you are grouped and if your pet has a movement disabling ability like charge, DO NOT make him attack until the tank has aggro on the mobs and he has them positioned right.

6. Hit rating is important. Let me say that again. Hit rating is VERY important. If you are level 80 and if you plan to raid you need hit rating. It is more important spell damage, attack power, crit, haste etc. For casters, you need 17% hit rating for raids and about 13% for heroics. For melee dps, ask Imman or Virtis (lol). Everytime you spell/attacks miss the boss, it is a huge DPS loss and in fights like Vault or the gargoyles in Naxx, we cannot afford mediocre DPS because it can lead to wipes or we can go on repeating the same fight over and over again.

7. Finally, make sure that you are glyphed right for your spec. Research on the best glyphs to use to maximize your DPS. Elitistjerks.com is a very informative source of any info that you need regarding your class mechanics. Also, food/pots/elixirs/flasks are your friends. Make sure to use any/all that you need to further enhance your spec. If your spec is crit dependent, there are crit elixirs and food around. If you need more hit, there are also foods and elixirs that can help you.

Of course the best dps booster of all is still knowing the fights and knowing your tanks and healers. There are tanks that can do frontloaded threat and there are those that you need to give a few seconds before you can start dealing damage. There are times when you need to know if your healer can heal you through how much damage or if you need to stand back and maybe bandage yourself. You also have to know beforehand how fights go and if not, make sure toa sk questions. It always helps if you know which mobs are immune to what and where you can position yourself to maximize damage without taking any damage yourself. Golden rule is, dead dps=0 dps.

Now the challenge to all Jollibee DPS-ers is not really to outdamage Ramby or Virtis. The challenge is simple. It is to make sure that you can do more damage than the tank in any run be it heroics or raids. Work on the tips above and let's see how that translates next time we post a damage meter.

This is fairly easily doable from level 70 to 80 solo. Even in instances like LBRS, you can just walk past most of the mobs. The only real challenge is the enemy racial cities where buffed guards and enemy faction players can make achieving your goal difficult.

Feathermoon (World of Warcraft RP/PVE) Filipino guild members met up today at Robinson's Galleria. As part of our first out-of-game meet up, we saw Charliebeb Gohetia's "The Thank You Girls," grabbed Whoppers at Burger King, coffee at Gloria Jean's and finally had dinner at Chef d'Angelo. With the upcoming hunter nerf, I've been researching on test realm results what the next great hunter build will be. BM is nerfed to the ground, MM registering a bit more DPS, and Surv the runaway winner, a huge improvement from being the cellar dweller last patch. All thanks to the big buff to the currently-useless Explosive Shot.
I'm itching to download the play test server. If this patch goes live, I'll probably go with this.

Finally a reason to dabble into the Survivor tree.

No one had any experience on this instance except Ramby, Ashkael(2 bosses) and Draech(2 bosses). ZA had 6 bosses, so I was half expecting us to wipe a lot.

General

* Players may now create death knights on any realm once they reach level 55.
* Bonus Armor: The mechanics for items with bonus armor on them has changed (any cloth, leather, mail, or plate items with extra armor, or any other items with any armor). Bonus armor beyond the base armor of an item will no longer be multiplied by any talents or by the bonuses of Bear Form, Dire Bear Form, or Frost Presence.
* Racial restrictions on mounts have now been lifted. Night elves on mechanostriders? Tauren on raptors? You’re not seeing things.
* Tapping: All player spells which cause a creature to become aggressive to you will now also immediately cause the creature to be tapped.
* A new mailbox is now available at the Crows Tavern in the Dalaran Sewers.
* We have added over 60 new graveyards to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.
* The run speed in spirit form has been increased by 50%. Night Elves in Wisp form will now move at 75% speed.

Death Knights

* All multi-rune abilities generate 15 runic power.
* Anti-Magic Shell: The cooldown has been lowered to 45 sec from 60 sec.
* Blood Aura now grants 2/4% instead of 1/2% healing.
* Blood Presence now grants 2/4% instead of 1/2% healing.
* Bloody Strikes will receive extra bonus damage from Pestilence.
* Bone Shield: The mitigation has been reduced from 40% to 20%.
* Corpse Explosion: Damage increased substantially, added 5 sec. cooldown, and changed cost to 40 runic power.
* Dark Command: Range increased to 30 yards.
* Death Knights have access to unique death-knight only facial textures and skin tones. These can be selected at the character creation screen.
* Death Pact now grants 40% instead of 20% healing.
* Frost Presence: The bonus armor has been increased from 60 to 80% and magic damage reduction increased from 5 to 15%.
* Heart Strike no longer has a haste debuff but will now be able to strike two targets.
* Horn of Winter now has no cost and grants 10 runic power in addition to its stat buff, but has a 30 sec cooldown.
* Icebound Fortitude now reduces damage by 20% instead of 50%. The amount of damage reduced increases with bonus Defense (to about 35% for 540 Defense, but can go higher).
* Night of the Dead now grants 40/70% passive area spell avoidance to your pet in addition to its current effects.
* Outbreak will no longer receive bonus damage from pestilence. The bonus from Plague Strike and Blood Boil has been increased slightly.
* Pestilence no longer has a 10 seconds cooldown.
* Raise Dead has now been split into two spells:
o Raise Dead now raises a ghoul or pet ghoul (if talented). Requires corpse dust if no humanoid corpse is nearby.
o Raise Ally now raises a fallen party member as a ghoul and has no reagent. Available at level 72. This should now last for 4 minutes.
* Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle (two-handed only) now grants 25 Defense and 2% Stamina.
* Rune Strike: Damage decreased from 200% to 150% but threat increased to 150% from 100%.
* Shadow of Death: The duration has been changed from 45 seconds to 25 seconds.
* Unholy Blight had had its cost reduced from 60 to 40 runic power.
* Wandering Plague will now properly reset after being cast.
* Vampiric Blood: In addition to its current effects, also adds 20% health temporarily.
* Will of the Necropolis will now reduce the damage of any attack that takes the DK below 35% health by 5 /10/15% instead of boosting armor when wounded,

Druids

* Feral Attack Power: All weapons now have the potential to grant feral attack power based on their dps (as compared to the best superior-quality weapons available at level 60). Players will see their existing feral weapons grant roughly the same attack power as they did before (+/- 2 or so), but many new weapons will be options for the feral druid. Some feral weapons have had strength converted to attack power to be more appealing to other classes able to equip them. All druids will see the amount of feral attack power granted by an item in the item tooltip, if it grants any, but other players will not see that information.
* Remove Curse and Abolish Poison can now be used in Moonkin form.
* Genesis: Now works with Tranquility and Hurricane.
* Growl: Range increased to 30 yards.
* King of the Jungle - The Bear effect is now physical, and thus cannot be dispelled.
* Nature's Grace - Now also effects Revive.
* Primal Tenacity: Now reduces the cost of Bear Form, Cat Form, and Dire Bear Form by 17/33/50% in addition to its previous effects.
* Protector of the Pack: No longer changes value based on party size.
* Savage Roar: The buff now persists outside of Cat Form but only provides its benefits while in Cat Form.
* Starfall will now be cancelled by any shapeshifting.
* Survival of the Fittest: This talent now grants 22/44/66% bonus armor in Bear Form and Dire Bear Form in addition to all of its previous effects.
* Swipe: Swipe (Cat) has now been added at level 71, dealing 260% weapon damage, costs 50 energy with no cooldown. All talents affecting the Bear Form version affect the Cat Form one as well.
* Wild Growth now has a 6 second cooldown.

Hunters

* All Hunter pet abilities with a cooldown of 30 seconds or more are no longer on the global cooldown.
* Aspect of the Wild - This aspect is now raid-wide.
* Call of the Wild: The benefit from this pet talent now applies to only the Hunter and their own pet.
* Deterrence: Design changed to grant 100% parry and 100% chance to "deflect" spells coming from the front, but prevents the Hunter from attacking. Lasts 5 sec. 60 sec. cooldown.
* Improved Tracking(Survival): This talent has been slightly re-designed. Now reads: While tracking Beasts, Demons, Dragonkin, Elementals, Giants, Humanoids and Undead, all ranged damage done to those types is increased by 1/2/3/4/5%.
* Kill Shot – Cooldown reduced to 15 seconds, down from 35 sec.
* Kindred Spirits: This talent now grants only 3/6/9/12/15% pet damage.
* The coefficient of Rake (Cat) and Scorpid Venom (Scorpid) has been lowered.
* Readiness: No longer resets the cooldown on Bestial Wrath.
* Steady Shot: Now gains 10% of attack power as damage instead of 20%.
* Serpent’s Swiftness: This talent now grants only 2/4/6/8/10% bonus attack speed to pet. The hunter attack speed bonus is unchanged.
* Unleashed Fury: This talent now grants only 3/6/9/12/15% pet damage.
* Viper Sting: Now drains a percentage of maximum mana.
* Volley: The damage has been reduced on all ranks by approximately 30% (including attack power scaling).

Mages

* Arcane Blast: This ability has been significantly changed. Arcane Blast now increases the damage of the next Arcane spell by 15%. However, using Arcane Blast itself does not consume the charge itself. Each time you cast Arcane Blast, the damage of Arcane spells is increased by 15% and the mana cost of Arcane Blast is increased by 200%. This effect stacks up to 3 times and lasts 10 seconds or until any Arcane damage spell except Arcane Blast is cast.
* Arcane Flows: Now also reduces the cooldown of Evocation by 1m/2m.
* Elemental Precision: Renamed to Precision and now works on all spells.
* Evocation: Cooldown reduced to 4 min.
* Improved Blizzard: The snaring effect has been reduced to 20/40/50%.
* Slow Fall is now castable on others.
* Torment the Weak: Now works with Arcane Blast and does bonus damage against targets afflicted with any type of slow (such as the combat slow from Thunder Clap).

Paladins

* Avenging Wrath: Divine Shield, Divine Protection, and Hand of Protection, and Avenging Wrath cannot be used within 30 seconds of each other anymore. Forbearance removed from Avenging Wrath.
* Divine Protection: The penalty has been removed.
* Divine Shield: The penalty has been changed so that all damage done is reduced by 50% in place of an attack speed penalty.
* Hand of Reckoning(NEW): Available on trainers at level 16. It’s a 30 yard range taunt that causes Holy damage.
* Judgements of the Pure: This Holy talent now increases the damage done by Seals and Judgements.
* Judgement of Wisdom: Now returns a percentage of base mana instead of a percentage of max mana.
* Sacred Duty: Interaction with Divine Shield and Divine Protection removed, but stamina bonus increased.

Priests

* Abolish Disease and Cure Disease can now be cast while in Shadowform.
* Holy: Circle of Healing now has a 6 second cooldown.
* Levitate is now castable on others.
* Mana Burn: Now burns a percentage of maximum mana.
* Shadow
o Shadowform: You can now shift into Shadowform while mounted or sitting.
o Vampiric Embrace- Mana cost of this spell has been removed.

Rogues

* Fan of Knives: The cooldown has been removed. In addition, now deals 150% of weapon damage when used while daggers are equipped.
* Feint: Rank 8 now reduces the damage taken from area of effect attacks by 50% for 6 seconds in addition to its existing effects.

Shaman

* Fire Nova Totem: Now no longer generates threat.
* Healing Way: Now only one application is required to reach full benefit. No longer stacks.
* Improved Water Shield: Lesser Healing Wave now has a reduced chance to trigger this talent.
* Magma Totem: The damage and scaling has been increased and no longer generates threat.
* Mental Quickness: Reduced the mana cost of instant cast Shaman spells by 2/4/6% and increases spell power by an amount equal to 23/46/70% of your agility.
* Searing Totem (Rank 4) now does the proper damage for its rank.
* Tremor Totem's duration has been increased from 2 minutes to 5 minutes.
* Elemental
o Elemental Shields: This talent has been removed. It has now been merged with Elemental Warding.
o Elemental Warding: Now reduces all damage taken by 2/4/6%. Changed from only reducing Nature, Fire and Frost by 4/7/10%.
o New Talent: Shamanism-Your Lightning Bolt spell gains an additional 2/4/6/8/10% and your Lava Burst gains an additional 4/8/12/16/20% of your bonus damage effects.
o Storm, Earth and Fire: This talent has been moved up in the tree, and its talent points have been reduced to 3 down from 5. Wind Shock is also included in the range increase (with Earth Shock). The damage bonus to Flame Shock has been increased, up from 10/20/30/40/50 to 20/40/60.
o Unrelenting Storm: point cost reduced to 3, down from 5. Now does 4/8/12%

Warlocks

* Drain Mana: Now drains a percentage of maximum mana.
* Emberstorm: Now works with Conflagrate.
* Ritual of Summoning: Will now create a summoning portal object which can be re-used for multiple summons for 5 minutes.

Warriors

* Bloodthirst: Charges have been decreased to 3, but the effect has been raised to 1% per charge.
* Fury: Bloodsurge: Now has a chance to trigger from any hit with Heroic Strike, Bloodthirst, or Whirlwind.
* Fury:Titan's Grip: The hit chance penalty has been removed.
* Taunt: Range increased to 30 yards.

Professions

* Alchemy
o All flasks no longer require an alchemy lab to create.
* Blacksmithing
o Reduced the spell power on the Titansteel Guardian to bring it in line with its item level.
o Increased the material requirements to make high level frost resistance gear created with blacksmithing.
* Engineering
o Engineers may now be able to properly engineer Centrifuge Constructs.
* Inscription
o Glyph of Death Strike has also been reduced by 50% to 1% healing per 5 Runic Power.
o Glyph of Deterrence: Now -10 seconds instead of -20.
o Glyph of Holy Light now affects friendly targets in a larger radius.
o Glyph of Horn of Winter now increases the duration by 60 sec.
* Leatherworking
o Iceborne Belt pattern skill up range has been increased to the correct range.
* Mining
o Weakened Giants and Iron Rune Sentinels can now be correctly mined.
* Skinning
o Increased the critical strike rating granted by ranks 5 and 6 of Master of Anatomy.
o Carrion Fleshstrippers are now skinnable.

Leveling Update

As of 12/02/08 three Jollibee guild members have reached the elusive level 80 mark and are now on the path of gearing up their toons and getting them ready for raiding.

But of course, better late than never, this blog would like to congratulate Threun the Obscene for winning the race to 80 contest. /cheer

Of couse handing out the prize is the guild elder (being 80 at least one week ahead of everyone else), He-Who-Has No Life incarnate - Ramby the Great.

And while others have been distracted by leveling alts, making DKs and getting achievements done and doing cooking/fishing (WTH) dailies, one player who has his eyes set at joining the rank of the elites hit 80 today, so congratulations are also in order for Draech (originally Kaelduras, Rev, Ryft and a zillion other alts), the Perennial Re-Roller.

Dragonblight rocks!

I ask, nay, compel you to finish the quests in Dragonblight, all you WoTLK people. Your expansion is USELESS until you EXPERIENCE two notable quest series in that area.

Cliff Notes of non-spoilery stuff:
- You get an achievement for finishing this major quest line regarding dragons.
- A cut-scene was shown. Enemies turn into friends. Friends turn into enemies.
- My first experience with Blizzard's phasing technology. The area I was in before the cut-scene was no longer the same afterwards.
- I get to go in Orgrimmar and Undercity. As in inside. Without getting killed. Lol.
- I get to have 38k hp and my Volleys crit for 9k. Oh how I wish those were permanent.
- If you've played Warcraft 3, prepare to become giddy.
- Too bad I wasn't able to get more screenies. The ones here do not give the EXPERIENCE justice.

Warlocks Get Some Love

Whoever said that warlocks didn't get some love on the Wrath of the Lich King xpac is definitely wrong. Not only am I hearing thorycrafts of their ~~supposed uber dps~~ return to caster DPS dominance @ level 80 (which is yet to be seen once more players hit max rank and get evenly geared up), Blizz is giving them the most powerful thing ever.

Wowinsider reports that even before the anticipated patch 3.1, warlocks will *drumrolls* get to summon a summoning stone for the price of one shard. Can you say uber? Now if only they'd give mages an AOE sheep then you won't hear this gnome complain. Then again more dps for frost mages would suffice. Hehe. But seriously, warlocks seem like the weakest caster class at the moment but I am so anticipating hating them again once we hit 80.

Speaking of hating, I am so spelling that right now as H-U-N-T-E-R! And just like BC, that remains my ultimate goal - outdps-ing a seasoned hunter in a raid. More QQ to come.

Ramby the Great

Death at first sight.

A lot of things have moved me to tears. A good book... a bad break-up... soulful music, or a heartwarming movie. However, WoW has never been one of them - until now.

I just rolled a death knight, and I am left just simply astounded and in awe of the greatness of Blizzard.

I got hooked to this game because of how immersive it was. However, through the past three years of playing WoW, I have become like most people (*coughdalecoughcough*) who just read the quest objectives, look up the coordinates in wowhead and pay no mind to whatever's written on the quest text.

Playing a death knight is a going back to what it was like experiencing WoW the very first time.

I am not going to spoil your DK experience by recounting what it was like starting out in the DK area. Suffice to say that, for the very first time EVER, WoW has made a quest line that is so emotionally heavy.

Dale was correct when he told me that you will NOT fully appreciate WOTLK is about without rolling a death knight. The DK story line is a story of hope amidst despair, of redemption in the face of damnation...

As you take the final strides into your home city while the people boo you and throw rotten bananas and apples at you, I hope that you, like me, will also be moved to tears.

The Race is On

Busy days ahead as everyone is busy leveling, questing, exploring new dungeons and areas, rolling Dks, rerolling toons, fishing and cooking.

At least for the next couple of weeks, sleep will be scarce and going out of the house will be a nuisance and a pointless distraction. Must... level... must... explore... /dies.

For some added incentive to load up on caffeine, Jollibee members are all invited to race up to level 80. First to ding will receive 500 Gold courtesy of Ramby. Since I am the one initiating the race, I will also disqualify myself hence the 500G is up for grabs for just about anyone.

Finally, until further notice (probably til leveling is done and all professions are up), I will be unable to do twink runs on any instances/raids with no XP. I am also unable to switch toons until my main is basking in the glory of level 80 uberness. Lol. kkthnkxbai.

Finally, some time to devote to my new acquisition. Threun the Obscene hunter is about to take his very first step in Northrend to vanquish the Lich King.

Or so he thinks. But first...

Decisions, decisions.

Stormwind and get easy access to Northrend via Borean Tundra, or take the relatively longer route to Menathil Harbor through Ironforge to get to Howling Fjord? As always, I took the road less-traveled and hopped into the portal to Ironforge. Besides, "fjord" simply sounds better.

Oh, and that's Chong my trusty threat-dealing gorilladin.

Five minutes in the harbor and the ship ain't here yet. Turbulence probably. Logged in and out just in case.

Finally. Not much of a ship though. No vendors at all.

what can i say about wotlk so far? (it's currently still installing in my machine as i write this)

first off: getting a copy of the game is as epic as the game itself. i was asleep for 10 hours yesterday. when i woke up, i had a text from jae gloating that he had lich king already. since it's not even out in stores in the US, i couldn't readily believe until i saw his blogspot entry at the jollyblog. apparently, datablitz were able to pre-ship some copies here... and apparently, copies were being sold faster than how i would suspect sam and piolo's sex dvd would sell if they would ever make one.

i couldn't keep still the whole night at work. i HAD to get a copy.the moment i got home this morning, i started calling all the datablitz branches up... at 9am! of course, most of the phones just kept ringing but i persevered. the first branch that actually answered the phone was the datablitz greenhills branch. the person on the other side of the line apologized profusely as they ran out of copies yesterday.

i hit the jackpot on the second number i tried - datablitz SM MOA. all their copies were reserved, the girl told me. but i was insistent. i told her i would be willing to buy their remaining copies of wotlk asap. she conceded.

i woke dale up and off we went to SM MOA. it was just sheer sheer luck, as the lady i talked over the phone eventually told us, when we reached SM MOA, that those were the last two copies of wotlk they had in the store because the guy who reserved them didn't pick them up the night before.

so yes... if you're a WoW player and you're in the philippines and you're reading this and you still don't have a copy of WOTLK... you're too late! *gloat gloat gloat* news from the grapevine reports that even stores in the US are running out of copies.datablitz told us their next shipment would be on saturday and it's not even that sure yet. good luck with that.

so the game just finished installing on my machine. installation itself is easy... and you are treated to majestic soulful moving music as the story of how arthas, once lordaeron's pride, became the lich king, one of the greatest threat to azeroth ever. it's just... awesome. words are not enough.

the ironic thing about this whole situation is that as i type this entry right this very moment, people in the US are lining up in stores due to open at midnight just to buy their copies. mwahahaha. sucks to be you, guys :P

and for those who have, by hook or by crook, been able to get copies of wotlk... see you in northrend! wooooohoooo!

The Wrath of Ramby and Kaelduras

The Great Ramby (ehem that's me, Dale) and the Perennial Re-roller Kaelduras (Imman) join the elite group of Threun the Obscene (Jerome) and Ashkael the Pointy Toes (Jae) and got ourselves the last two copies left for WotLK in the entire Philippines! Okay I'm exaggerating but that's what we were told by the nice saleslady that gave us the last Datablitz copies that were actually reserved for somebody else. It took a lot of leet mind control on the part of Kaelduras but it sure paid off as you can see the enormous grin on Kael's face. (More pics under the cut.)

Of course buying WotLK won't be complete without a celebration so we dropped by Sbarro for some tasty non-conjured food courtesy of Kaelduras the Perennial Re-roller.

WOTLK Alliance FPs SUCK!!!

Ok. Before anyone else gets any ideas... this is going to be a QQ post - a QQ post of why, yet again, I despise the fact that we belong to this god-forsaken faction: the Alliance.

Eliah Hecht has just posted two very informative guides on WoWInsider as to the flight paths of both Horde and Alliance in Northrend.

Here's a quick side by side comparison for your reference: Blue flight paths indicate Alliance, Red filght paths indicate Horde and yellow flight points indicate Neutral FPs.

Howling Fjord:

For those who don't know how to count... Alliance has 4 flight paths while Horde has 5. Notice also how very conveniently situated the Horde flight paths are compared to the Alliance one which seems to have been distributed by a drunk crazy monkey who just got beaten up for stealing cavendish bananas from 7-11.

Next up is Borean Tundra:

Horde has six elegantly placed flight paths that cover most of the area while Alliance only has 5.

Doesn't anyone notice something really off about this? I could go on and on about how disastrously inconvenient Alliance FPs are since classic WoW... but it's too late to do anything about it except suck it up and rue the day I rolled Alliance.

One last thing to note: Cold Weather Flying is available at level
77 for 1000g. That means that your first 7 levels (or 9, if you start at level 68 in Northrend) is going to be spent land bound - which means that this disparity between Horde and Alliance FPs is going to really really suck for Alliance.

Also, please forgive the poor formatting of the post. I've spent the past hour trying to figure out how to format pictures with text in the blogspot entry composer thingy but it's a primero bitch and I cant figure out how to format things in it. I miss the sheer simplicity of LJ. :(

Flashback: Two weeks ago
My southie friends invited me to lunch Sunday in Alabang Town Center. Passed by Datablitz. I inquired about Wrath of the Lich King and thought, what the hell, and had one reserved. At the back of my mind, I know they'll be getting it late. I'm not in a rush anyway.

Today: around noon
A WoW guildmate announced that Datablitz already has copies of WotLK. The hype got to me. The opportunity to get to Northrend before US peeps get to open their copies is not something you can do everyday.

So I called up Datablitz Park Square 1 to confirm and yup, they had copies already. I had a copy reserved for pickup after work. Giddiness.
Today: around 2pm
Datablitz Alabang Town Center texted to inform me that they have copies of WotLK already. Dedma.

Today: around 5pm
I called up Datablitz Park Square 1 again to confirm my reservation. Nada, all copies accounted for. I texted DB ATC and no reply. I called DB Trinoma and no luck; all copies accounted for as well. Called up DB ATC and they have a copy reserved just for moi.

Today: 9pm
Just finished installing hihi. If anyone's interested, I have some 10-day free WoW trial thingies.

PS. DB ATC branch ran out of their usual plastics and they gave me a generic white plastic bag. Ugh. And the nosy male attendant warned me not to install it first. Pakialamero!

While most progressive guilds are rushing to clear Hyjal and BT before Wrath hits, Jollibee cleared Kara last weekend. No, we are not noobs. Well, not all of us at least. *grin* While some of us have raided the end-game, we have recruited a lot of new people lately. We have also asked some old players to reroll in Feathermoon so we could all raid, quest and run instances together.

So, in the interest of getting decent enough gear for re-rollers and to give new players a taste of raiding (not to forget getting that achievement done for all toons and alts).

Following the successful 9-man run last week, we aim to do a faster clear this week with the following line-up.

Main Tank - Kaelduras (Paladin)
Off-Tank - Brattinello (Druid)

Healers: Rambart (Shaman) Jinkie (Priest)

DPS:

Threun (Hunter)
IanneI (Ret Paladin)
Rambaldi (Mage)

Hachiroku (Ret Paladin)
Virtis (Ret Paladin) + 1

Dale and I were able to secure a copy of Wrath of the Lich King from one of the videogame stores early. This was supposed to be out on Friday pa.

Installation, upgrade and patching went without a hitch, as proven by these screenies.
